Strategy...

Do we do this in model railroading. For once...I can say...YES :)

In this section I found that most of the granite has a white tone to it, but it also has some light browns, blacks, burnt umber, and grey all mixed around. So I took very LIGHT washes in this step to build up the color palette. I'd work a space and if it looked to dark I would blot up the paint to a lighter tone and water down the brush again. This method seemed to work out pretty good.
