Mears Bridge Piles

Earlier I talked about the bridge I was needing to build. Here is the start of that process.

I took plans from the D&RGW (purchased at the Colorado Railroad Museum) and used those plans as starting point for the construction. I also used a LOT of pictures from the internet and various friends for how the prototype was built. After doing all of the research, I can say with 100% certainty that the actual bridge was not built to the standards. Don't ask me why, they just weren't. Some piles had 5 bents, others had 4. (The bents are the long circular pieces that were drove into he ground).
