Throw it!

Yes...gotta use a phrase from Ghostbusters :)

Here you can see the Ion Generator that I am using. I got this done because of the grate being towards the very bottom of the tool and also because it has a high voltage capacity. It is called a TruePower Static Grass Applicator and it said to have 30,000V of capacity. Not sure if I believe that level...but I really only need 5,000V for a good generator...so we will call it good.

NOTE: For those that know anything about electronics, the ground wire if pathetic. And only rated for 300V. Which means if you get too close to the energized grates, it will pop right through the ground. So don't grab the ground wire when operating. Have it off, place your return pin and get your ground wire clipped on...turn on the unit and keep your hands away.

Ask me how I know :).

  • Start with the Base
  • After the base has dried, I start to work the first layer of static grass. To do this I will apply full strength Matte Medium. Using an old, smaller sized brush, I stipple around the scenery putting glue where I think it will represent the best for the scene.
